The Apurva Kempinski

Amidst the majestic cliffs of Nusa Dua, rising proudly above the Indian Ocean and surrounded by lush tropical gardens, the Apurva Kempinski Bali sits enthroned in all its splendor.

A place that epitomizes our ideal of a luxury property on a dream beach.

This magnificent retreat presents itself like an imposing open-air theater, expressing Indonesian elegance in its purest form. Conveniently located just half an hour from the international airport, it offers an oasis of calm and renewal, as well as entertainment and inspiration for discerning travelers.

The Apurva translates as "unique and magnificent" from Sanskrit and embodies Kempinski's dedication to bringing unique experiences to life.

The Apurva Kempinski Bali seemed to meander down the hillside like one of Bali's iconic rice terraces, emerging from the cliffs and gradually descending to the Indian Ocean.

Award-winning architect Budiman Hendropurnomo of Denton Corker Marshall drew inspiration from the rice terraces and their centuries-old "subak" irrigation system to create the concept for the property.

From the moment you entered the pendopo-style lobby at the highest point of the resort, it was an inviting space with an impressive tiered roof that drew the eye to the sky. Ornaments such as the intricately carved Javanese Gebyok partitions told of Indonesia's thriving Majapahit empire and created an atmosphere that brought the country's history to life.

During our stay, we experienced the resort's luxurious accommodations, which consisted of 475 guest rooms, suites and exclusive villas.

Each accommodation offers generous living space and an abundance of exclusive amenities with views of either the majestic Indian Ocean or the tranquil natural surroundings.

We were particularly impressed with our Junior Suite, which came with a private pool. The suite combined luxury and comfort, inspired by the tropical features of Indonesia and modern influences. During our stay, we were whisked away to a world of culinary delights that enchanted our senses. The resort is home to a variety of restaurants showcasing a wide range of delicious dishes from Indonesia and the entire Asian region.

We began our culinary journey of discovery at Koral, Bali's first aquarium restaurant, where we were treated to delicacies from across the archipelago. The colorful underwater world around us enhanced the taste experience and made our dinner an unforgettable event.

As a lover of Japanese cuisine, Izakaya by OKU was a true highlight. Inspired by the award-winning cuisine of the OKU restaurant at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta, we were treated to authentic Japanese flavors and exquisite dishes.

Another highlight was Bai Yun, the resort's signature Chinese restaurant. Here we enjoyed a sensational dim sum and hotpot experience that transported us into the culinary world of China. On the top floor of the resort, we experienced a unique atmosphere at L'atelier by Cyril Kongo while sampling premium spirits and cigars. The creative design of the space and the selection of premium drinks made this a popular meeting place for connoisseurs.

In the lobby, Selasar Deli offered a relaxed atmosphere where we could unwind with a cup of special Luwak coffee and a refreshing Jamu herbal tonic.

In the sun-drenched days, we enjoyed refreshing drinks at the Kubu pool bar while admiring the picturesque backdrop of the ocean. Surrounded by lush tropical gardens, the 60-meter swimming pool was the perfect place to swim a few laps and refresh ourselves.

The Apurva Spa was a true revelation for us. As soon as we crossed the door step, we left everyday life behind us and immersed ourselves in a world of beauty and relaxation. The lovingly designed rooms led us to our treatment room, where we completely let ourselves go with a wonderfully relaxing Balinese massage for 90 minutes.

After our treatment, we enjoyed a cup of relaxing tea in the relaxation area while wrapping ourselves in soft bathrobes and enjoying the open view of the ocean.

In the midst of the hectic world outside, the Apurva Spa was a true sanctuary of calm and wellbeing, allowing us to fully relax and renew our spirit.

The fitness center, nestled in the cliffside landscape, created an inspiring atmosphere for our training. The extensive range of state-of-the-art fitness equipment met all our wellness needs and encouraged us to give our best.

From modern cardio equipment to versatile weight training options, the fitness center was well-equipped and offered us the opportunity to complete a varied workout.

The Apurva Kempinski

The little guests of the Apurva Kempinski are pampered all round as well. Children's bathrobes, shampoos and even children's toothbrushes are available in the rooms to make the young guests' stay as pleasant as possible.

The Jalak Family Club was a real highlight for us, full of life and joy. Inspired by Montessori education, the club offered a variety of activities for children and teenagers, all tailored to their individual needs.

The choice of activities at Apurva Kempinski was so diverse that we could hardly decide which ones to explore first. From creative craft workshops to sporting activities, there was something for everyone and we were guaranteed not to get bored.

Our stay at the Apurva Kempinski Bali was an unparalleled experience of luxury, beauty and warm hospitality. As we bid farewell to this paradisiacal retreat, we took with us not only memories, but also the promise to return one day and immerse ourselves once again in the magic of this unique place.
