The 12th edition of the most beautiful and quietest rally successfully finished with award ceremony in Rabac!
Traditionally, we started the first day by gathering and introduction that followed with accreditation ceremony and gala dinner. The second day of the rally was reserved for visiting the sights in city Vodnjan and Svetvinčenat, and in between we also visited the Chiavalon olive oil factory. The narrow streets of Vodnjan hide a rich cultural heritage, in the church of St. Blaža you can find a world-famous collection of relics as well as the Vodnjan mummies of the saints.
In Svetvinčenat is the Morosini – Grimani Castle, a true historical gem that has been a symbol of the city center for decades, and its well preserved walls attract the attention of visitors. After such a cultural treat, it was time to head to the ferry to the island of Cres, and on the way we enjoyed driving through small picturesque towns such as Pićan and Kršan.

The Island of Cres is known for its natural beauty and is the largest Croatian Island, its rich flora and fauna is simply amazing, and is one of the last natural habitats of the almost extinct griffon vulture. In town of Beli is a sanctuary and a rescue center established to protect and rehabilitate endangered griffon vulture population and plays a vital role in preservation of the species. Currently, there are four adult griffons in the sanctuary, which are successfully recovering and will be released into the wild. In addition to the rich flora and fauna, Cres has rich historical and cultural heritage that is visible in the town of Cres, the Tramuntana area, and the settlements of Beli, Lubenice and Osor.

The following day we drove along panoramic roads towards the smallest town in the world, Hum which has only 30 inhabitants and within the preserved city walls hides two small streets, the parish church of the Assumption of Mary, the Romanesque church of St. Jerome, painted frescoes under Byzantine influence with numerous Glagolitic inscriptions and graffiti by the Master Anthony of Padova (Kašćerga) and many charming shops with local products. Hum is also known for its gastro offer, and it is a “must” to try “biska”, a medicinal mistletoe brandy, made according to a centuries-old recipe of the ancient druids. On the way from Hum to Buzet, we made a stop at the “Aleja Glagoljaša”, a monumental complex that commemorate the Glagolitc writing, that consists of eleven memorials and is located in the area between Roč and Hum.

On our way to town of Buzet, also known as “city of truffles”, we visited a small town Sovinjak where we enjoyed truffle and mushrooms made delicacies. We were enchanted by a church of St. George (Jurja), in whose courtyard we found a well preserved sun-watch and a small chapel of St.Rok.

Our final day was reserved for sport activities at the private airport in Vrsar, where participants could show off their driving skills, followed by an award ceremony to announce the winners and award the trophies, officially ending the 12th edition of another e-vehicle rally dedicated to promote the best of Croatia has to offer as a tourist destination.
